How do I know whether I need a hip or knee replacement?

The first step is a review of your symptoms, clinical history and current imaging. If you already have X-rays or MRI scans, these can be submitted for an initial assessment.

Can Prof. Kutzner review my X-rays before I travel to Germany?

Yes. International patients can submit their imaging and medical records before travelling. A video consultation can subsequently be arranged where appropriate.

How quickly can surgery be organized?

This depends on the required procedure, medical preparation and current surgical capacity. International patients receive an individual proposed treatment schedule after their case has been reviewed.

How long should I stay in Germany?

The recommended stay depends on the procedure and individual recovery. For many international patients, the treatment journey includes several days of clinical treatment followed by rehabilitation and recovery in Mainz before travelling home.

Can I stay close to the clinic after surgery?

Yes. ENDO-Apartments provide an accommodation option within the ENDOPROTHETICUM environment and can be combined with rehabilitation at the ENDOPROtherapeuticum.

When can I fly after hip or knee replacement?

This needs to be assessed individually. The timing depends on the procedure, recovery, flight duration and individual risk factors. A recommendation is made as part of the treatment and discharge planning.

What does hip or knee replacement cost?

After reviewing your medical information, we provide an individual cost estimate. Selected standardized treatments may also be offered as defined treatment packages or with indicative “starting from” prices.

Which implant will be used?

Implant selection is based on diagnosis, anatomy, bone quality and individual requirements. Prof. Kutzner discusses the recommended implant concept with the patient before surgery.

Yes. ENDOPROTHETICUM International is designed for patients travelling to Germany from both European and non-European countries.

What happens after I return home?

You receive recommendations for your further rehabilitation and follow-up care. Where medically appropriate, follow-up consultations with ENDOPROTHETICUM can also be performed remotely.
